๐ First Year - Semester 1 (Physics Cycle)
SGPA: 8.51
This was my first semester right after JEE, full of energy and excitement! Had Python programming and absolutely loved it. Got excellent grades in both lab and class. I enjoyed every moment and studied a lot because the motivation was still fresh from JEE preparation days. ๐ฏ
๐งช First Year - Semester 2 (Chemistry Cycle)
SGPA: 7.5 | CGPA: 8.00
Honestly? I hated it. Literally hated all the subjects. So I didn't study anything - not even before exams. I regret that decision now. This semester was a big mess-up, and I literally lost focus. Lesson learned the hard way! ๐
๐ป Second Year - Semester 3
SGPA: 8.25
Started coding in C as advised by our college. Getting back on track and rebuilding the momentum!
๐ Second Year - Semester 4
SGPA: 8.5
This was amazing! I loved all the subjects here - learned SQL, Java, DBMS, and Theory of Computation. Was also doing Data Structures & Algorithms in Java. This semester reignited my passion for CS! โค๏ธ
๐ Third Year - Semester 5
Tough semester with subjects like Compiler Design. Had electives in NLP and Machine Learning (can't even remember much from this phase honestly). Started studying extensively for IIT Madras ML courses and realized I needed to focus on one programming language. Since IIT Madras taught in Python and I was naturally drawn to Python, I decided to dive deep and restart from level 0. Best decision ever! ๐
๐ฏ Third Year - Semester 6
Had a major project with a very hectic mentor. The experience was challenging with limited knowledge at the start, but it pushed me to grow.
๐ Fourth Year - Semester 7
Focused heavily on Data Structures & Algorithms. Started helping juniors, making sure they don't make the same mistakes I did. Giving back to the community felt amazing! ๐ช
๐ก Key Takeaways
My NIT journey taught me that it's okay to struggle, to hate some subjects, and to mess up. What matters is learning from mistakes and finding your true passion. From hating Chemistry cycle to loving SQL and Python, from low points to helping juniors - every semester shaped who I am today! ๐
